Trip to Hermit Falls!!!

Today we enjoyed a trip to Hermit falls and it was awesome....  Along the path a took a picture of the scenery.(Picture 1)  There are cabins, (Picture 2), deep in the forest that were built in the early 1900's.  The supplies used to build these cabins were taken in by Donkeys..   When we got to Hermit falls it was pretty amazing...   Water was cold and this guy (picture 3) even came and swan dived into the cold water like nothing, said he had been doing it for over 20 years...
It was a great experience and I recommend it to everyone.  It is about a mile and a half to Hermit falls.  You will have to cross the stream a couple of times and I warn you, your feet will get wet.  I recommend taking plenty of water, a camera, and some snacks to munch on when you get there...  just remember not to litter and enjoy the scenery.  We saw plenty of squirrels, an 8 inch lizard, a good sized salamander and a cabin full of jugglers...

Come join us March 19!!

Newly formed SGV Hikers Group is looking to get together March 19, in which there will be a full moon...     We are looking to meet at the bottom of Garcia trail in Azusa at 7pm.  We will start the hike at 7:15 sharp...   Gear I recommend for you bring is water, a sweatshirt for when we reach the peak, camera to take pictures of the scene at the top, maybe a light snack, and a flash light.  If you have never been on this particular hike, just some info on the Hike, it is about 2 and a half miles up and down combined, however it is 1000 ft up so it is a pretty difficult hike...   however don't be discouraged, you can do it...
